TAG (Thank-A-Giver) Day

Did you know that tuition and fees only account for approximately 30% of the University’s operating budget? The remaining comes from other sources including individual donations.

November 8 marks the point in the academic year when tuition stops paying for a student’s education and support from individual donors takes over. For the remainder of the year, gifts to the University help to make a Pitt education possible. To say THANKS, we will recognize the generosity of these donors by celebrating our second annual TAG (Thank-A-Giver) Day on November 8, 2017.

TAG Day will be a campus-wide event that shows the Pitt community the importance and benefits of paying it forward. The event will be hosted by the Pitt Alumni Association and the Blue & Gold Society student group. Tags around campus will represent the tangible impact our donors have on the University.

On November 8, students will be asked to post a selfie with one of the gold tags on campus on social media using #PittTAGDay. TAG Day signs will be posted in the lower level of the Cathedral of Learning, the William Pitt Union, Market Central, and the Hillman Library. Everyone who posts a TAG Day selfie will be eligible to win one of many great prizes, including a Beats Pitt wireless speaker, and a FitBit Alta.
