Networking and Leadership
Because of their close association with the Pitt Alumni Association, SAA members enjoy some of the best opportunities to interact with both Pitt alumni and top campus administrators. SAA members also are encouraged to serve in leadership roles as members of the Blue and Gold Society, the University's student ambassadors.
Friends and Fun
With more than 1,500 student members, the SAA is a great way to make friends and get involved with fun events, including the SAA picnics, annual homecoming festivities, and the Cathedral Ball—a December formal exclusively for SAA members and their guests.
The Pitt Alumni Association welcomes its new student members to campus each year with a Panther Pak gift, which includes an SAA T-shirt, a Pitt traditions glass, key card and lanyard for event access, and exclusive discounts at Oakland shops and restaurants. Do I have to attend meetings?
All SAA General Body meetings are completely optional for members but attendance is highly encouraged so that members can connect with one another and take advantage of meeting other #PittTraditionKeepers.
How long does my membership last?
Depends on which membership plan you choose:
○ Annual Membership: $20
○ 4-Year Membership (First-years only): $70
Do I have to join each year?
You would have to join each year if you choose an Annual SAA membership but not if you choose a 4-Year membership.
Who can join?
Any current undergraduate student at Pitt can join. There are no restrictions based on class, major or GPA.
Dinner with 12 Panthers 2019

Dinner with 12 Panthers is an annual tradition at Pitt. Alumni host small dinner gatherings for 12 Student Alumni Association members at a location chosen by the alumnus. These intimate gatherings have become great networking opportunities for alumni and students, who enjoy sharing their stories, experiences, and future plans.
