Graduates of the Duquesne College were admitted as Western University of Pennsylvania Alumni.

Creation of a Committee of Fifty.

Faculty and University Trustees made honorary GAA members.

Alumni Council begun. 50 members: "The purposes of the Alumni council shall be to create an active center of alumni who will diligently advance the interests of the University of Pittsburgh by strengthening the relations between the alumni and the University, by establishing efficient class and alumni organizations, by disseminating such information as will rouse the interest of the public in the University, by bringing to the attention of students of preparatory schools and those desiring to take up professional and post-graduating work the advantages of the University of Pittsburgh as an educational institution, by fostering and encouraging under graduate's activities, by assisting to provide funds for the maintenance and endowment of the University, and by making recommendations to the Board of Trustees of matters deemed material for its welfare." Article IV, Section 3 of GAA Constitution

Alumni Council, during its first year of existence, was urged to increase GAA membership.

Alumni Association hires George M.P. Baird as Secretary.

Executive Secretary of the Association attended the Second National Convention of the Association of Alumni Secretaries, held in Chicago.

Secretary of the Alumni Association hired. The position would no longer be shared with Athletics.

Feb.- Executive Secretary attended the organizational meeting of the Association of Alumni Secretaries held at Ohio State University.

Charter for incorporation granted by the Common Pleas Court of Allegheny County on July 7, 1936, and recorded on July 10. It was voted on and approved by the GAA. (October 10, 1936)

Special considerations were given to the McKeesport alumni to form a Pitt Club despite being located within Allegheny County. The Council would appropriate 50 cents of every $3 membership and the group had to maintain at least 125 paid members. (March 28, 1938)

Acting Secretary, Don Saunders, attended the American Alumni Council meeting in Columbus, Ohio, March 31 to April 2. (May 16, 1938)

Office Secretary reported to the Council that the office mails approximately 200,000 pieces of mail and sells approximately 4,000 football tickets per year. (June 6, 1938)

Alumni Association added the staff position, assistant to Alumni Secretary which was to "aid the alumni secretary in direction of the growing activities of the General Alumni Association."

Alumni Placement Service expanded staff and services.

Creation of the Speaker’s Bureau

"The [Executive] Committee approved the appointment of a General Public Relations Chairman for Council who would stimulate the appointment of a public relations chairman in each association to begin a program of maximum coverage with local community papers." (September 21, 1964)

Fred Robie, Executive Secretary of the GAA, reported plans for four new programs: Alumni-Parents Committee, Alumni Inter-fraternity and Panhellenic Council, Legislative Committee, and Regional Chapters for Metropolitan Pittsburgh. (September 19, 1966)

Extended the School Alumni Association through Class Councils. New organization increased the number of alumni representing the schools from 176 to 2,611.

Between 1990 and 1995, association staff grew from four full-time and one part-time staff members to nine full-time and two part-time staff members. During the same period, the number of constituent groups rose from 35 to 70, the amount of self-generated income rose from $40,000 to $601,900, and the amount of money in endowments rose from $0 to $100,000.

In 1994, more than 58,000 alumni lived in Allegheny County.

Alumni Week-end held at Bradford campus.

Library borrowing privileges were offered to the alumni for a $25 donation to the University Library System.

From 1995 to 2000, the number of association staff rose from nine full time to two part time members. In the same peiod, the number of constituent organizations rose from 70 to 98, the self-generated income from $601,900 to $1,389,319, the number of endowments from two or three to 13, and the amount of money in endowment from $100,000 to $2,400,000.

Alumni Association joined with KQV to promote the organization

From 2000 to 2005, the staff went from 14 full-time and two part-time members to 17 full time and three part time. In the same period, constituent organizations rose from 98 to 108, self-generated income went from $1,389,319 to $1,268,900, the number of endowments rose from 13 to 25, and the amount in the endowments rose from $2,400,000 to $4,187,531.
