Pitt Alumni Association Scholarships |
Alumni Recognition Scholarship |
Awarded to an incoming freshman legacy student whose grandparent, parent or sibling is a Pitt alumnus. Each year this scholarship is named to recognize a different distinguished alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh. |
$9,000 Award. Renewable for four
years.

Incoming students that meet scholarship eligibility criteria as designated by the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA) will automatically be sent applications for this award. |
Graduate Scholarship |
Awarded to an incoming or currently enrolled Pitt graduate student who also received his/her undergraduate degree from Pitt. |
$5,000 Award. This is a one-time award. |
Students interested in applying should ask about the application in the dean’s office of their school in late December.

Hilda M. Willis Freshman Legacy Scholarship |
Awarded to an incoming freshman legacy student whose grandparent, parent or sibling is a Pitt alumnus. |
$5,000 Award. Renewable for four years. |

Matching Pitt Club ~ Affinity Council ~ Alumnae Scholarships

Pitt Clubs - The Pitt Alumni Association (PAA), in conjunction with the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA), awards a three-to-one match to any student receiving a scholarship from one of the Alumni Association’s twelve (12) regionally based Pitt Club endowment funds.
Affinity Groups - The African American Alumni Council, the Alumnae Council and the Pitt Band Alumni Council provide scholarships to full time students who meet the criteria as outlined by each of these groups. Please review below. |

African American Alumni Council (AAAC)
Scholarship |
The Pitt Alumni Association, in conjunction with the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA), awards a three to one match to any incoming freshman student receiving a scholarship award from the AAAC.
Note: The award is matched in years 2, 3, and 4. |

Students that meet scholarship eligibility criteria as designated by the OAFA will automatically be sent applications from the AAAC for these awards. |
Alumnae Council Scholarship |
The Pitt Alumni Association awards a three to one match to a female sophomore student who is the recipient of a scholarship award from the Pitt Alumnae Council.
Note: The award is matched in years 3 and 4. |
$1,500 Award. |
Female students that meet scholarship eligibility criteria can pick up an application in the Dean's office of the school they are enrolled in. Applications are usually available in December but those interested should check with their schools for specific information.
All full-time female students in their sophomore year and having a GPA of 3.75 or better can apply. Please check with your schools Dean's office for additional information. |
Pitt Band Alumni Council Scholarship |
The Pitt Alumni Association, in conjunction with the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA), awards a three to one match to a Pitt band member.
Note: The award is matched in years 3 and 4. |
$1,000 Award. |
Pitt band members who are full- time students and meet scholarship eligibility criteria as designated by the OAFA will automatically be sent applications from the council for these awards.

PAA-Managed Endowed Scholarships |
Tom Ablauf Memorial Scholarship |
Established by the family of Tom Ablauf and the PAA. This scholarship is awarded each year to a student with 24 or more completed credits and proven involvement in one or more of the following areas: Greek Social Organizations, Neuroscience, Omicron Delta Kappa National Honor Society, or Blue & Gold Society. |

Applications are distributed in January and are awarded each year. |
Anita J. Angus Endowed Alumni Association Athletic Scholarship |
Established through a bequest, this scholarship is awarded each year to a Pitt student who is a Pennsylvania resident and a participant in intercollegiate athletics with a particular emphasis on football, basketball or crew. |

Student must be a Pennsylvania resident and a participant in intercollegiate athletics with a particular emphasis on football, basketball or crew.

Robert I. "CUBBY" Bearer Endowed Scholarship |
Established by the family of Mr. Bearer, this award has been designated for a Pitt student on the Main Campus who is a resident of Western PA and has attained the merit of Eagle Scout and who has demonstrated financial need. |

Applications are available in January in the Pitt Alumni Association office and the award is posted for the following Fall semester.

Cecile M. Springer Endowed Scholarship |
Established by Cecile M. Springer, past president of the Pitt Alumni Association. It is a one time award given to an undergraduate student and is a needs-based award. It is used to promote the University's commitment toward diversity. |

Dr. Donald M. Henderson Endowed Scholarship |
Established by alumni and friends in honor of Dr. Donald Henderson, to be awarded to an African American student for tuition based on need. |
