All Pitt alumni are asked to complete an online survey being conducted by SimpsonScarborough, a higher education market research firm. Alumni were sent either an e-mail or postcard by May 15 directing them to the survey, which has been designed to help us to better understand how the University of Pittsburgh can enrich the alumni experience and inspire our remarkable alumni community to get engaged and stay connected to Pitt and with one another.

Pitt Networking Day: June 1

#PittNetworkingDay gatherings will take place around the world on Thursday, June 1, with more than 50 Pitt alumni clubs participating. Founding Dean of School of Computer and Information Named

Paul R. Cohen will become the founding dean of the University of Pittsburgh School of Computing and Information. Cohen’s deanship begins on Aug. 1, 2017. The first new school or college established at Pitt since 1995, the School of Computing and Information will bring together the School of Information Sciences and the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences department of computer science to provide a multidisciplinary environment that supports discovery, innovation and entrepreneurship driven by data and technology.

Pitt Names New Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences and College of General Studies Dean

Kathleen M. Blee has been named the Bettye J. and Ralph E. Bailey Dean of the University of Pittsburgh’s Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences and the dean of the College of General Studies. She currently is the Dietrich School’s associate dean and a distinguished professor in the school’s Department of Sociology. Blee’s deanship will commence on Aug. 15, 2017.

Pitt Women's Ultimate Frisbee

Last year, the Pitt Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team won the Ohio Valley region for the first time in team history and finished 12th at Nationals in Raleigh, North Carolina. Help the team build on this success by supporting its EngagePitt™ fundraising campaign. Funds will be used for tournament registration fees, travel, and lodging expenses.

Blue and Gold Society Induction Ceremony

On April 21, the Pitt Alumni Association inducted 16 new members into the Blue and Gold Society for the 2017-18 school year. Also at that ceremony, 15 alumni members returned to help kick off the organization’s 25th anniversary year, as well as pay tribute to the group’s 16 graduating seniors. Blue and Gold Society members serve as the Pitt Alumni Association’s student ambassadors, supporting university-related programs and community-wide events to strengthen the relationship among Pitt alumni, students, faculty, and staff.

Women's Choral Ensemble 90 Year Celebration: Oct. 15

Alumnae who performed with the University of Pittsburgh Women’s Choral Ensemble as students are invited to sing with the ensemble when the group commemorates its 90th anniversary with a concert on Sunday, Oct. 15 in Heinz Memorial Chapel.  If you are interested in singing with the ensemble, please contact Christine Turvey (CPT9@pitt.edu).
