BSIS Students Collaborate with Pitt Business to Redesign United Way Website

What can four students do given 100+ hours in a two-week period? If you ask undergraduates at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Information Sciences (iSchool), they can probably build you an impressive, custom-designed responsive website. As part of an independent study project, BSIS students Rachel Lazar, Michael Quach, Melodi Reich and Jasmine White redesigned and developed a new website for Pitt’s United Way that will replace their existing website in 2015. iFest 2015: Technology. Entrepreneurship. Creativity (TEC)

The iSchool is proud to present iFest 2015: Technology. Entrepreneurship. Creativity. February 2-7, 2015. iFest is a weeklong series of events designed to engage students, faculty, employers, and the Pittsburgh community. The week will include design and poster competitions, a networking luncheon for students and industry partners, the annual iSchool Career & Internship Expo, and professional development training with alumni. iFest will culminate on Friday, February 6 with the TEC Conference, which will showcase leading information professionals from across the country. TEC will bring together undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, researchers, and professionals to share knowledge, current projects, and new ideas. The iSchool is committed to providing a space for professionals and scholars to connect, share advice, and get inspired.

Young Alumni Profile: Artem Beaty-Avdonin (MSIS ’14)

The iSchool is pleased to report on alumnus Artem Beaty-Avdonin’s (MSIS’14) new career as a Software Engineer at McKesson. Artem began his new position in January 2015, which he secured prior to graduating in December. Read more about Artem.
