The iSchool Congratulates December 2014 Graduates

iFest 2015: Technology. Entrepreneurship. Creativity (TEC)

The iSchool is proud to present iFest 2015: Technology. Entrepreneurship. Creativity. February 2-7, 2015. iFest is a weeklong series of events designed to engage students, faculty, employers, and the Pittsburgh community. The week will include design and poster competitions, a networking luncheon for students and industry partners, the annual iSchool Career & Internship Expo, and professional development training with alumni. iFest will culminate on Friday, February 6 with the TEC Conference, which will showcase leading information professionals from across the country. TEC will bring together undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, researchers, and professionals to share knowledge, current projects, and new ideas. The iSchool is committed to providing a space for professionals and scholars to connect, share advice, and get inspired.

Dean Larsen to Collaborate with CMU on New Library Partnership

Dean Ronald Larsen of the School of Information Sciences at Pitt and Dean Keith Webster, University Libraries at CMU, will conduct a review of options for collaboration across the institutions for library services. Read more.

Amelia Acker Receives ProQuest Doctoral Dissertation Award at ASIS&T 2014

The University of Pittsburgh’s School of Information Sciences is excited to announce that Amelia Acker received the ProQuest Doctoral Dissertation award at the ASIS&T 2014 Annual Meeting. Acker, an assistant professor in the Library and Information Science program, received the award for her dissertation entitled Born Networked Records: A History of the Short Message Service Format.
