The iSchool Welcomes New Students

The iSchool welcomed more than 180 new students to the iSchool community from 15 countries including the United States (23 states),  Albania, Canada, China, Ecuador, Georgia, India, Iran, Kosovo, Nigeria, Pakistan, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and Taiwan. Read more.

2014 Sara Fine Institute Lecture to Welcome Lucy Suchman

Join the iSchool as we host the 2014 Sara Fine Institute Lecture on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the University Club.  Lucy Suchman, Professor of Anthropology of Science and Technology in the Department of Sociology at Lancaster University and Co-Director of Lancaster’s Center for Science Studies, will present “Sensing War at the Interface.”  Learn more about the Lecture.

Join the iSchool at the 2014 Alumni Awards Ceremony, October 24

Each year, the iSchool recognizes the achievements of outstanding alumni. On Friday, October 24, we'll be honoring Debra D. King (MSIS ‘85), Douglas C. Sicker, PhD (MST ‘92, PhD ‘01), and Yang Xu, PhD (PhD '07) at the annual Alumni Awards Ceremony. The ceremony will take in the iSchool Student Collaboration Center on the third floor of the Information Sciences Building (135 N. University of Pittsburgh Homecoming 2014

The Pitt Alumni Association invites you to this year’s homecoming festivities! Events are scheduled for the week of October 20th, culminating with the homecoming football game against Georgia Tech on October 25th and the traditional halftime crowning of the homecoming king and queen.  More information.

Alumni Reception in Lancaster, September 28

Young Alumni Profile: Amirreza Masoumzadeh (PhD ’14)

The School of Information Sciences (iSchool) is proud to report iSchool alum Amirreza Masoumzadeh’s (PhD‘14) new position at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany. Amirreza began his appointment as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Informatics Department in August 2014. Read more about Amirreza.
