Faculty at the School of Information Sciences awarded five NSF grants

The School of Information Sciences (the iSchool) is pleased to announce that the National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded grants to the following faculty: Geoffrey Bowker, Peter Brusilovsky, Daqing He, Jung Sun Oh, Cory Knobel, and Ronald Larsen. This funding will support a diverse group of projects ranging from evaluating research efforts within cyberinfrastructure to creating an academic recommendation framework to facilitating social networking for short-term academic communities. Several of the grants are from NSF's EAGER program, supporting exploratory and novel projects. The iSchool faculty has a distinguished record in attracting funding from such prestigious agencies as the NSF, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the National Security Agency, the National Institutes of Health, and the Army Research Office. Alumni Survey

These are the types of questions featured on the iSchool alumni survey, located here. Please take a moment to let us know about your career successes! The results of the survey will be kept anonymous and used as part of the University's accreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

iSchool to host Alumni Receptions at the PaLA and ASIS&T Conferences.

Alumni Reception at PaLA Conference: Sunday, October 24, 2010 @ Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square, 5:30 - 7:30 pm Alumni and friends attending the Pennsylvania Library Association (or living in the Lancaster, PA, area) are invited to join the iSchool at a reception at the conference hotel.
