Affinity Council Scholarships

Three of the Alumni Association’s affinity-based alumni councils have established funds that provide financial support to Pitt students who share an interest or connection to the University of Pittsburgh. The councils fund the entire scholarship in the first year, and in subsequent years the Alumni Association and University’s Office of Admissions and Financial Aid match the original award. (Up to $2,000.)

African Americal Alumni Council Scholarship

Award amount: $2,000 | Award frequency: Yearly (4 years).

Who Should Apply
Students that meet scholarship eligibility criteria as designated by the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA) will automatically be sent applications from the AAAC for these awards.

Alumnae Council Scholarship

Award amount: $1,000 | Award frequency: Yearly (4 years).

Who Should Apply
Female students that meet scholarship eligibility criteria will receive a scholarship application via their pitt.edu e-mail address in the spring semester of their Freshmen year. 

The top 150 full-time, scholarship-eligible female students can apply, with rank based on GPA, in December of their first year.

Pitt Band Scholarship

Who Should Apply
Pitt band members who are full-time students and meet scholarship eligibility criteria as designated by the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid (OAFA) will automatically be sent applications from the council for these awards.
